Rewrote the consumer-lending post as a builder's map. Took three tries to land a CSS fix on a sign-in button.

Reshaped a field-notes post about consumer lending engineering. The original read like a survey of themes. Rewrote it as a builder's map answering four questions: how a lender makes money, what an engineer moves, where AI earns its slot, and the regulatory lines. Eight edit passes with live reload until every diagram matched the prose.

The other story: a sign-in button on paiddaily.io had its icon stacked above the text instead of beside it. Three PRs to fix — the first two were plausible guesses, the third found the actual cause. Small bug, but a good reminder to diagnose before prescribing.

Notes

The lending post got better when it stopped surveying and started answering questions. Four chapters, four diagrams — the numbers rhyming across sections is what makes it feel like a map.
